Soy and estrogen...

I just read that soy affects a women's body similar to estrogen and can make it difficult for sperm to swim to the egg. Of course I got this off the internet from something a non-doctor wrote so who knows if it is true but I am certainly finding it interesting.

Because of the hair loss issue that I am having, I decided to do a little adding and subtracting to my diet to help stimulate my thyroid and soy was one of the things that you should cut out. I just find it so fascinating because soy is in EVERYTHING! "They" use it as a filler to replace actual food substances in human food and dog food, and probably cat food but I don't know since I'm not a cat person.

When our dog got cancer, soy was one of the things we cut out of her diet as well. Her brand name dog food that she was eating was mostly soy! Our vet recommended that we chose a food in which the first two ingredients are meat and we did. And she was much healthier for it. I just want to eat fresh, non-genetically altered, pesticide, preservative, and hormone free healthy food, and I need it to not be so damn expensive! I get it that it is cheaper to make food that has been is altered to grow bigger, be resistant to disease, and last longer on the shelves but I am having trouble getting pregnant over here people! I need my body to be as healthy as it possible can be and I need to be saving money so we can afford pay for our visits to the specialists!

I can relate so much to your last few posts. It is so hard hearing about pregnant people or stories of how people get pregnant so easily. Every time I hear someone is pregnant that I know..esp people who were not even "trying" I feel like it puts me farther and farther away from something we are trying and hoping so much for! It is a very isolating feeling. As far as medical bills and treatments go..all I can say is it is hard to swollow the cost and the fact you need "help" but once we decided to bite the bullet we decided might as well just do it aggressivly and hope to save in the long run and get it done quicker to save us financially and emotionally...because yes like you, I am a CRAZY person! My husband also is positive most the time and I am definitely not as much...I cry often, feel angry and frustrated at least once a day. He is great and supportive, but I do not think men can fully understand the emotional side of it (for sure not the hormones). They do not have the maternal instinct we do. I so wish I could put it in the back of my brain, but it just is not possible. I think about at least 99% of the day! That is why having a girl who understands I think is so important. Someone to vent to that will not think you are crazy or judge, and someone that can relate. But back to the treatment. I had the HSG test done (where they put the dye through your uterus and tubes) this week..and lets just say its not fun..but I just keep reminding myself of the end results. We go in tom. morning to check my follicles to see if they can trigger my ovulation and we may do artificial this month. It is a difficult journey and one you cant turn back on. We are just hoping it works because we only have 2 months left on Clomid before we have to go to daily injections. As far as soy, I know taht too much is bad for you..but soy isoflavones acts like a mild form and more natural form of Clomid. A few friends of mine took it and it made them ovulate regularly and 1 got pregnant using it. If you take it, take the 40 mg and take 6 a day..yes 6. Not sure if you also have heard about taking musinex but that is good for your mucus. I may have mentioned that earlier. If you ever have any other questions (I am by no means a dr. but feel like I know a lot about this stuff..my G-O-O-G-L-E keys on my computer are worn down)or just need someone to vent to that understands feel free to email me! My email is kristinbrown18@gmail.com Girls have to stick together on this one. Hang in there!
